If this book makes a contribution to how we think about the role of communication in creating The New, it does so with the considerable cooperation and inspiration from three groups of pioneers: the practitioners who have been pushing the frontiers for years and who communicate The New everyday for a living; the insiders who live the problem of The New from inside their organizations and who have been early adopters of the new communication; and the academics, whose generous conversations have provided useful theoretical frameworks and input.
I have been privileged to listen to, watch or work alongside these people; and it is their contributions that form the foundation of this book.
